After serving men in the inner city for a number of years, AlphaCitiCorps recognized the need to provide an environment where those recovering from life’s brokenness could come for healing in a relational atmosphere. They began by first providing a housing community in a quiet residential neighborhood of Minneapolis. Secondly, they developed a business model that has enabled them to employ the men they serve. These two emphases—housing and employment—enable them to spend their time working and living alongside the men, challenging them to become disciplined followers of Jesus Christ.

They do this by continuously engaging the men relationally in the following ways:

• Providing weekly professional Christian counseling to the men at their Discipleship House
• Offering music, fellowship and teaching every Wednesday night
• Emphasizing deeper discipleship training along with group discussion, prayer ministry, food and fellowship every Friday evening at ‘House Church’
• Assisting with transportation to church on Sundays, as well as events such as lectures, seminars, concerts, sporting events, job interviews, court appearances, meetings at our discipleship house and other occasions
• Accompanying the men on fishing and camping outings in the BWCA and other locations in northern Minnesota
• Training the men to minister to the homeless and to those bound by drug addiction and crime

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

• AlphaCitiCorps has a unique approach to raising funds: Simply DONATE BOOKS you no longer need to ACCBOLD! This helps them provide employment for men coming out of treatment, train these men in business and ministry, and support the various ministries of AlphaCitiCorps.
• VOLUNTEER as a mentor, musician/worshiper, intercessor, teacher, and/or group leader/helper.
