January’s Spotlight on Outreach

Life is beautiful! January is Sanctity of Human Life month which is focused on countering the message of the Roe vs. Wade decision on January 22, 1973 regarding the life of an unborn child. Each day, numerous precious lives are lost because women and men in our community feel they have no other options. New Life Family Services considers it a privilege as the body of Christ to make options available to those facing unplanned pregnancies.
For 35 years, New Life Family Services’ mission has been to honor the sanctity of human life by assisting clients with life-affirming decisions with love and compassion of Christ regarding the life of their unborn child. They provide free pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, decision-making counseling with licensed social workers, parenting education and supp

ort, full adoption and post-adoption services for birth parents, and support groups for single moms, as well as post-abortion counseling and support. In addition, they provide speakers from their abstinence resource center and licensed adoption services. All clients also have the opportunity to learn about a personal relationship with Christ.
During this month, Our Savior Lutheran Church & School was honored to assist New Life Family Services in their mission. Members picked up a "baby bottle" and filled it with their currency, coins, and checks totalling over $1,200. They also donated the "most needed items" including diapers, baby wipes, new and gently used baby clothes and maternity clothes--an entire trunkload of donations were delivered to their offices to the delight of all the staff.
