Mary's Wish 
What if you could? Help your neighbors, nourish your community, feel good about yourself and find a home for those items you no longer need. The answer is Mary’s Wish, an organization that serves low income individuals and families and the working poor by offering furniture, household items, appliances and children’s items at no or low cost at their store, The Furniture Depot in Waconia. With today’s challenging economic times, a greater number of our neighbors are in need.
How Can You Help?
- Donate your gently used furniture including mattresses, dining tables/chairs, sofas, chairs, bed frames and dressers to The Furniture Depot. A complete list of acceptable items can be found on their website. To arrange a pick-up, call 612-751-2207. All items need to be in your garage or driveway. A small donation of $5 is requested to cover fuel expenses.
- Donate supplies to be used at The Furniture Depot. Items needed are paper towels, toilet paper, air fresheners, liquid hand soap, toilet bowl cleaner, Windex, furniture polish, Formula 409, black Sharpies, purple or green Duck tape, and especially 13 gallon plastic bags.
- Financial donations are also welcome, made payable to “Mary’s Wish” and placed in “The Church Box” on the Church Lobby wall. Or sent directly to, PO Box 586, Waconia, MN 55387.
Or Help By Volunteering at The Furniture Depot
- A part-time driver and assistant are needed on Saturdays. They will need to furnish their own truck which is able to pull a trailer supplied by Mary’s Wish.
- There’s a need on Friday afternoons for someone to clean furniture.
- Especially needed are Spanish speaking volunteers to assist clients during regular business hours.
