ICA Food Shelf
Hunger. We all know it’s a worldwide problem. But we may not be aware of the great need closer to home – eve
n right here in our neighborhoods. Intercongregation Communities Association (ICA), supports those who are hungry and in need in Excelsior, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Deephaven, Greenwood, Shorewood and Woodland. More than just a food shelf, ICA provides not only food, but also financial assistance for basic needs such as housing, utilities, and transportation to medical appointments, all in a secure, respectful environment. With today’s challenging economic times, a greater number of our neighbors are in need. What better time for us to reach out and show them God’s love by helping them, in a small way, to once again achieve self-sufficiency.
During this month, members had an opportunity to take bags with a list of needed items, fill it, and return it to church. In additon, financial contributions were made to ICA.
If you would like to help, you may volunteer at the ICA facility at 12990 St. David’s Road in Minnetonka. There are dozens of roles to be filled, from office and clerical work, to stocking the food room, picking up food, and transporting clients.
