Angel Tree

All too often, the forgotten victims of crime are the little children of inmates, who are left without a father or mother - through no fault of their own. We all pay the price for this: the evidence is clear that children with a parent in prison are more likely to end up in prison themselves someday.

Our Savior joined Angel Tree, a ministry of Prison Fellowship, to help break the cycle of crime by sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the children of inmates.

HOW IT WORKS: In early fall, incarcerated moms and dads can sign up to have church volunteers deliver gifts to their children at Christmas (volunteers contact the at-home parent or caregiver to make sure that it is okay). The Christmas gifts are presented as being from the mom or dad in prison - assuring the children that they have not been forgotten!

MORE ABOUT ANGEL TREE: Since its beginning in 1982, Angel Tree Christmas has touched a cumulative six million children's lives through loving participation of thousands of churches, and the numbers continue to grow. Each year Prison Fellowship receives thousands of Angel Tree applications from prisoners throughout the country, thankful for this opportunity to provide Christmas gifts for their children back home. Currently about two million children have a mom or dad in prison - sometimes both! Angel Tree's goal is to reach every one of these children with the love and touch of Jesus Christ!

ABOUT PRISON FELLOWSHIP: Founded in 1976 by Chuck Colson, Prison Fellowship partners with local churches across the country to minister to a group that society often scorns and neglects: prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families. The focus of our ministry includes fellowshipping with Jesus (including teaching others to live and look at life from a biblical perspective), visiting prisoners, and welcoming the children of prisoners.
