Healing House

In November of 2006, after twelve years of prayer, Healing House opened as Minnesota's first faith-based, Christ-centered recovery ministry for women and women with their children. It is a 12-19 month residential discipleship program for women in addiction. It is an oasis of hope in an otherwise hopeless situation--Healing House welcomes women and women with children often turned away from other programs.

Before Healing House, a woman degraded by addiction and poverty, and wanting to keep her children, had no place to go for primary residential recovery in Minnesota.  But in 2006, dozens of volunteers rallied, renovating a 3-story building in North Minneapolis.  Now they offer comprehensive help in meeting the needs of the whole family through agency partners.  It equips—educating both mom and children, providing life skills, and employment readiness—as well as fostering a strong, growing faith as the centerpiece of recovery.

 Want to help onsite? 
Small groups and families are welcome for Saturday Night Kids Chapel, or Thursday or Saturday evenings from 7-8pm.  Curriculum is furnished that includes message and activity.  Or, there’s F.A.K.S. (Fun Activities for Kids on Saturdays) in the morning.  Mixed groups are fine.
