Our Savior Extended Care


Thank you for your interest in Our Savior’s before and After-school program which we call “Extended Care”.  Extended Care (EC)  is a Christ Centered childcare.  We are here to provide excellent childcare and help your child grow and develop Christian values.  Extended Care is designed to encourage the healthy development of the child. Children are encouraged to play, make friends and explore their world. Extended Care is a place where children can be children.  Listed below are our Goal for Extended Care. Extended Care Goals
SOCIAL GOALS:


  • EC will provide children with direction in helping them develop their social skills.
  • EC will provide rules that help guide their behavior.
  • EC will encourage the use of good manners- both towards individuals and when eating at the table.
  • EC will encourage respectful attitudes toward adults and other children.
  • EC will encourage children to make positive decisions.
  • EC will encourage children to do things for themselves whenever possible.


EMOTIONAL GOALS:
EC will provide children with resources to support their emotional needs such as:
  1. Listening ears
  2. Hugs
  3. Laughter
  4. Respect
PHYSICAL GOALS:
EC will provide children with activities to develop their bodies physically such as:
  1. Nutritional snacks
  2. Outdoor Play
  3. Organized large motor activities
SPIRITUAL GOALS:
EC will provide opportunities for children to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, and give them the opportunity to share their faith by:
  1. Reading from the Bible
  2. Leading Devotions
  3. Praying
  4. Encouraging forgiveness, gentleness, kindness, patience and self-control
INTELLECTUAL GOALS:
EC will provide opportunities for children to further develop their skills in the academic arena through activities such as:
  1. Summer Reading program
  2. Reading aloud
  3. Reading silently
  4. Games
  5. Crafts
  6. Videos/Movies
  7. Drama/Puppet shows
  8. Discovery Play
  9. Dress up
  10. Help with homework
  11. Computer Activities
