The Minneapolis area has a very large and diverse population of immigrants. Many of these immigrants come in search of freedom from political oppression and a better paying job. In many cases, some of the money they earn will be sent back to loved ones still living in their home country.
Many of these immigrants have never experienced a cold winters like we have in Minnesota. The Quilting Ministry of Our Savior seeks to meet the needs of these people, and the other poor in our area and around the world.
The Quilters have sent quilts and blankets as far away as to Russia and as near as a local shelter for battered women.
Quilters typically meet during the school year on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays from 9:00am-2:00pm. Check the Church calendar for exact dates, since there are some times around the holidays that they do not meet.
